CBD stands for cannabidiol. CBD is a natural compound found in the cannabis family of plants. CBD extracted from industrial hemp should not be confused with CBD extraction made from the marijuana plant. When extracted from the industrial hemp plant, the THC levels are less than .3% THC. Chill Paws products are extracted from industrial hemp. Unlike THC, CBD does not produce psychoactive effects and will not produce a "high." 

Cannabinoids (naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant, CBD included) interact with pets’ endocannabinoid receptors which are located in the central and peripheral nervous system. Your pet's endocannabinoid receptors are responsible for keeping their body in a normal and balanced state

All of our products are made with Full Spectrum CBD, which means they contain all the cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. Our products are hemp-derived and contain less than .3% THC.

No. Unlike THC, CBD does not have psychoactive effects and will not get your pets "high."

We recommend once or twice a day, although every pet responds differently. Start with one or two doses daily and increase as needed. The effect of each dose generally lasts 4-8 hours.

You can add our CBD oil to their treats or food as well. The effects may take a few minutes longer to kick in.

Our 250mg CBD oil was formulated with smaller dogs in mind (under 25lbs). For mid-sized to larger dogs, our 500mg option is a better fit.

Every pet has different tastes and your method of delivery of CBD should be tailored specifically to your pet. If your dog doesn’t like the tincture given directly into their mouth or on their food, give our CBD treats for dogs a try. They are also very convenient when traveling with your pet for a quick and easy on-the-go application.

We try to keep things simple. The ingredients in our tinctures are Full Spectrum CBD and MCT Oil. 

We recommend three different ways to use our tinctures:

1. You can apply the oil from the dropper directly into your pet's mouth and the effects will happen within 20 minutes to 60 minutes.

2. You can apply the oil to a treat. The effects will take a little longer when applied to a treat, about 45 minutes to 90 minutes.

3. You can apply the oil to your pet's food. It will also take the same amount of time to take effect as the treat — 45 minutes to 90 minutes.

The amount of CBD milligrams listed on our packaging and bottle is per bottle. For example, our 125mg (10ml) bottle contains 12.5mg per full dropper. Our 500mg (30ml) option contains 16.67mg per full dropper.

It depends on how often you use the tincture and the amount you use per serving. Typically our 10ml (125mg) option should last 10-20 servings. Our 30ml (500mg option) should last 30-60 servings.

Each pet responds slightly differently to CBD. If your pet has never tried CBD, we recommend starting with half of a dropper and working your way up. Monitor how your pet responds. Gradually increase the dosage until you find the best dosage for your pet. For example, some of our customers have found that 2-3 droppers work best for their pet, where others can use less to receive the desired effect.

Our CBD Pet Balm helps soften and moisturize skin, reduces inflammation of the skin, and contains antimicrobial properties that help speed the healing of small wounds. The balm can be used to protect cracked paw pads, moisturize dry snouts and irritated ears, and relieve discomfort from itchy, dry skin and hot spots.

We recommend consulting with your vet before giving CBD with other medications. There may be some medications that do not mix well with CBD.

Studies on CBD for animals other than cats and dogs are very limited. It is best to discuss the use of CBD for other types of pets with your veterinarian beforehand. They will best be able to recommend a course of action based on your pet’s unique situation and the reasons you want to administer CBD oil.

CBD products are now around the USA (though rules may vary by state). Some states require that CBD oil contain 0.3% or less of THC, which all Chill Paws products are in compliance with. All Chill Paws products are manufactured in facilities that are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Please allow 1-2 additional business day to see if you do receive it. Sometimes USPS updates their system as delivered, yet has product delivered later that day. We’ve had a couple instances where our customers have said the mailman has accidently dropped it off at neighbors mailbox, and then they get notification from their neighbor that they have it.
